I’ve decided to brush up on my sewing skills with the help of “Easy Singer Style Pattern-Free Fashions & Accessories: 15 Easy-Sew Projects that Build Skills, Too” by Kate Perri. I’m going to try to work on one new project and post my results. Feel free to pick up a copy of the book and join in! I found mine in the clearance section at Half Price Books.
I completed my first project from the book: tiny little egg cup pincushions. I used tools, fiberfill, and fabric I had on hand. I picked up the egg cups in the knickknack section at Goodwill for $1 each.
They’re super simple to make. You’re just doing a straight stitch and gathering them to make little balls. Hot glue them to the cups and viola, instant pincushion. I found these to be a bit small for pins but they’re perfect for sewing needles. Add a needle set and tie it with a pretty ribbon for a great crafty stocking stuffer!
